Alkhabear

One system for sales, point of sale, inventory, purchasing, accounting and HR, on the web and in a cashier app.

The challenge

A corner grocery and a multi-branch chain need the same system at different levels of complexity, and every invoice must match the tax authority to the last halala.

What I built

  • A cashier app for Windows, Android and handhelds with built-in printers that keeps selling when the internet drops.
  • Direct ZATCA integration, with tax calculated to match the shelf price to the halala.
  • Multiple companies and branches, with isolated data and per-branch permissions.
  • Accounting and stock posted automatically from every sale, plus HR with attendance, leave and payroll.

My role

Analysed the system, designed the database, and built the server, the web app and the cashier app.

Cashier and accounting software sold with its hardware, installed and taught inside the shop.

The challenge

Shop owners across Khamis Mushait, Abha, Jazan and Najran want a system that works on day one, and support they know by name.

What I built

  • Retail and restaurant editions: menus, kitchen printers and returns.
  • Sales, purchasing and stock, with a chart of accounts, journals and an income statement.
  • E-invoices compliant with the tax authority’s requirements.

My role

Developed the software and analysed what its shop customers needed.

About

I start from the shop floor, not from the code.

I studied Computer Mathematics at Ibb University and started with small systems for charities and education forums: attendance, vouchers, correspondence. That is where I learned that a good system is one its users understand, not its author.

Today I work on sales and accounting systems used by a cashier at rush hour and an accountant at month end. I care about three things: numbers correct to the last halala, screens staff understand on day one, and every business’s data kept apart from every other’s.
